Special needs planning often requires more than just creating a special needs trust to insure your loved one is protected. It involves problem solving and planning financially for a special needs child.
Estate administration is the process of collecting and managing an estate after someone dies, paying any debts and taxes, and distributing the remaining property to the heirs of the estate.
Planning for death and potential incapacity is difficult and can feel overwhelming. This is why estate planning is often postponed, sometimes until it is too late for us to have any control over our affairs, including end of life care and how our property is distributed. Caring for a special needs child or other family member can make such planning seem even more challenging.
Helping people achieve their estate planning goals, both financial and non-financial, is why I began my law practice. I am here to take the burden off your shoulders and I understand the importance of making the estate planning process as easy as possible. Whether you have young children, are getting older, or have experienced other major life changes, I can prepare a customized estate plan that helps put you in greater control over your affairs. Also, as a parent of a child with special needs, I have firsthand knowledge of and experience with the unique circumstances that a family with special needs faces when planning for the future.
Serving individuals, families and retirees in Montgomery and Bucks Counties, I approach clients’ estate planning, special needs planning and estate administration matters with care and compassion. Please contact me to discuss your needs. There is no charge for our initial conversation. I look forward to hearing from you.
